New Beginnings

I am very happy to share some news with you all!

After twenty-three years working as an independent rare bookseller and consultant, I am delighted to announce that I have taken a new position as head of the Books, Maps & Manuscripts department at Freeman’s auction house in Philadelphia. I have worked with them since I began my career and am thrilled to be joining their team.

In addition, I will be the regional representative for Freeman's in Connecticut, New York, and Western Massachusetts, splitting my time between Philadelphia and Sharon. As such, I am looking forward to working with clients regarding consigning art, furniture, jewelry and more, as well as books.

Due to my new circumstances, I will be closing the shop on June 30th and until then will remain open during my regular hours, Thursday–Sunday, 11–5. I am also happy to accommodate visits outside of those hours but please call or e-mail first before stopping by.

Starting on Thursday, June 7th, all books and prints will be 40% off! Stop in to load up or just to say hey!

I have always appreciated the warmth with which the shop was embraced by the community when I opened in 2009 and would like to thank everyone for their support over the years. I will miss the waves and honks from the stop sign as well as the casual visits from friends and neighbors. However, I hope that you, like me, are looking forward to keeping in touch as usual as well as possibly working together with my new hat on.

You can continue to contact me with any questions or inquiries at darrenwinston@gmail.com.
